Gamification is one of the greatest ideas to be incorporated into education in recent years. (IMO) - Tonight is all about Games well at least about using games for professional development. We have played Speed Dating in the past, and tonight we are going to use the concept of Connect 4 to grow as educators. So tonight is not going to be as cool as the things Michael Matera and other Gamification experts do in their classroom. There will be no leveling up, no side tasks, not even badges to be earned. Instead we are going to use the simple concept of a child's game to discuss education. One of my favorite games as a kid, and one that I continue to play with my daughter is Connect 4. I always like to explain where my ideas for the chats come from, mostly to give credit for those who have inspired the ideas, or those I have stolen the concept from. Tonight's concept comes from a chat that I saw being promoted last week with the questions posted prior to the chat. I took a peak at the questions, but unfortunately I don't remember who posted the questions or what chat they belong to. The concept of Connect 4 is about making connections. So the format for tonight's chat will be responding to questions with 4 ideas that demonstrate your thoughts on making connections. Before we begin, we have to cover last week's homework or EC. Please share the results of your homework.
