I recently began my coursework for my Administrator's License. In the first course we are talking about Leadership. We have been asked what type of leader do we want to be. I have been pondering that for some time as I think it is important to really develop a vision for what I want to grow into. As part of my reflection I realized that am already a leader in various roles in education. I get to lead trainings and present technology to teachers. I have been a coach, and I am so humbled when people say that I am a leader of #sstlap because honestly I often feel like I am just creating questions. Questions that would end up being a one person conversation, me, myself and I if it weren't for the awesome group of passionate educators that show up there each Thursday for the past 3 or so years. Yeah it is staggering to think this has been going on that long. Imagine how many questions I have had to come up with and in thinking about that- I got to ask questions, to inquire about things. Imagine what would happen in education if we opened the door to allow students to ask their own questions and discover their own answers? BOOM! I will let you take a moment to consider that. You are leaders of your classroom and have other opportunities to lead. I wanted you to think of yourself as a leader and engage in a conversation about growing in that role whether it is in the classroom, as a coach, mentor, admin, or whatever role you are in. I do have a few surprise questions after number 2 so please be ready for a fast conversation. I didn't get time to make those extra ones pretty but they are thought provoking, at least I think they are. Thanks for joining each week so I am not the lone nut here all by myself!
