Dave Burgess gave his TED talk using magic with math. Yes a Social Studies teacher wowed the audience using math. And well my daughter has come home with the new common core math lessons, and for a first grader, I am wowed by the new ways they use for solving math, but that's another story. Dave uses his propensity for magic to engage his audience, to create engagement, and WOW student, teacher, and anyone who witnesses the magic. Tonight I was looking for a different topic, so I turned to TED talks and found Christopher Emdin discussing teaching teachers how to create magic. His message in my opinion is in sync (no not the boy band) with what the magician and amazing educator Dave Burgess had envisioned. You can teach teachers how to be more engaging and bring the magic. Please take the 7 minutes to view the video and look at the questions for Thursday's chat - 8 CST.
